Hi All,

What about an alternative to the new AppAnalytics released with XE8?

I've developed a "Customer Use Analytics" for my applications using a Google Analytics account and a TWebBrowser inserted in my Application.

It have been working since May/2013, so it is not a plagiarism! :D

Please let me know if this idea sounds good to the BCB Journal's community.

Best,

Marcelo.

I, for one, would like more information on how to use it.

Hi James,

I've seen some Embarcadero's videos showing the new AppAnalytics and automatically remember the feature I was talking about.

Is an way to monitor the use of your application: location, version, customer, frequency, OS version, and any other feature you would like to monitor.

Attached I'm sharing an image for location of one of my application uses (since May/2013).

Best,

Marcelo.

+1 on more info!

Are you simply including a blank webpage then injecting the JavaScript in through the webbrowser control?

Hi jayden,

Yes, the returned HTML page is almost blank. I'm using a PHP file at server side with some GA calls in a script section. The body section is like this:

Code: Select all
    <style type="text/css">
      body{
        background-color:#f0f0f0;
         margin:0; padding:0;
           background-repeat:no-repeat;
           background-attachment:fixed;
           background-position:left top;
           background-size: 100% 100%;
        }
      </style>

This subject was published in "Tracking Apps with Google Analytics" as a Part I, in BCB Journal's volume 19, Number 6 (June, 2015).

I'm trying to improve it in Part II, scheduled to the BCBJ's next number.

Best,

Marcelo.
